WHAT IS NOMI
NOMI is a community film screening platform for emerging talents.It is a gathering where filmmakers contribute a short film and spend several weeks watching and responding each other.NOMI brings together a selected group of filmmakers from around the world to showcase their talent and voice in a respectful context.
THE IDEA BEHIND NOMI
For decades, talent discovery has largely been shaped by institutions and systems — festivals, distributors, programmers, and increasingly algorithms.There has long been limited space for emerging filmmakers to present their work in the right context.NOMI wants to create a mutual ground for emerging filmmakers to expose their talent.Here, filmmakers and viewers watch films, respond honestly, and recognize the works that move them by writing reviews and nominating each other.Over time, these responses and nominations create new paths for emerging talents to form connection to the audience and stimulate their growth both artistically and commerically.
HOW NOMI WORKS
1. THE GATHERING
A select group of filmmakers and viewers enter digital screening room for a limited time.Each filmmakers contribute one short film to participate.
2. THE SCREENING
On a set date, we launch a closed screening platform - with minimalist design and unique review and nomination features.
3. WATCHING WITH INTENTION
Watch each films intently.Not as a judge, or a a programmer.
But as a filmmaker and (or) film lover.
4. LEAVE YOUR MARK
After each viewing, we will prompt you to write a review.The review is delivered to the filmmaker's inbox.
5. THE NOMINATION
Each viewers will receive limited number of nominations to give on the films they watch.You reserve them for the films that truly move you.When you nominate a film, you must write a "nomination letter" - stating your reason for nominating.The letter is delivered to the filmmaker's inbox.
6. THE COMMUNITY
Over time, what emerges is a living record of connections that surround each film.Through this, we hope to build a network of genuine connections formed around filmmakers' creations.

OUR OATH TO THE FILM COMMUNITY
We will treat every film in NOMI with care and respect.We will not rank films through opaque algorithms
or reduce them to numbers and metrics.We will create a space where filmmakers encounter each other’s work with curiosity and generosity.NOMI is not designed to extract value from filmmakers.It is an experiment in building a culture of discovery —
one shaped by the artists themselves.
WHO WE ARE
NOMI was started by filmmakers who first met while studying at NYU Tisch School of the Arts.During the Sight & Sound course, we experienced something special — a small community where films were discovered not through reputation, but through genuine curiosity.10 Years later, after navigating festivals and the realities of the film industry, we began asking ourselves a simple question:What if that culture of discovery could exist beyond film school?NOMI is our attempt to build that space.
